The Blue Flag symbolizes a peaceful sky and prosperity. The Sky-Blue Flag (designed by Shaken Niyazbekov) symbolizes purity of thoughts, a peaceful sky, and unity. At its center is a radiant sun—the source of life and wealth. A steppe eagle soars beneath it, personifying statecraft, loftiness of spirit, and the desire for freedom. Along the flagpole runs a vertical stripe with a golden national ornament—a symbol of a deep connection with ancestors.
The State Emblem (designed by Zhandarbek Malibekov and Shota Valikhanov) is circular, signifying the eternity of life. Its central element is the shanyrak, the top of a yurt, which symbolizes the warmth of the hearth and the common homeland of all Kazakhstanis. The uyks radiating from it resemble sunbeams. Mythical winged horses (tulpars) protect sovereignty, and the five-pointed star at the top symbolizes the bright path and the country’s openness to the world.
The National Anthem “My Kazakhstan” (music by Shamshi Kaldayakov, lyrics by Zhumeken Nazhimedenov and Nursultan Nazarbayev) is the emotional heart of the country. Its majestic melody and lyrics celebrate the fertility of the land, the glorious past, and the unwavering faith in prosperity.
