On April 24, a lesson titled “The Great Child of the Great Steppe” was held in Class 6A. The objective was to introduce students to the life and scholarly legacy of Shokan Ualikhanov, and to explore his personal qualities.
The lesson was creative in nature and centered on group work. Instructional methods included: “Reflection,” a mini-lecture, “Four Aspects,” “Sources Speak,” role-playing (historical reenactment), “The Interview,” “Mind Mapping,” “Semantic Mapping,” creative assignments, and the “Traffic Light” method.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
– Learn about the life and work of Shokan Ualikhanov;
– Identify his defining traits as a scholar, traveler, ethnographer, and military commander;
– Freely express their thoughts and evaluate a historical figure;
– Articulate their personal perspective through creative work.
The lesson aimed to expand the students’ historical knowledge and foster a deeper respect for national values.
