Choosing a profession is our primary task.

As part of the career guidance week titled “Choosing a Profession: Our Primary Focus,” primary school teachers M. Zhumabekova and K. Zhumayeva conducted a methodological and practical master class—”Working with Text: Strategies for Enhancing Reading Literacy in Primary School”—for teachers of grades 3 through 8 at Secondary School No. 176.

During the master class, participants:

became acquainted with the structure of assignments used in primary school;

practiced effective strategies for working with text to foster reading literacy;

shared their experiences through group work and practical exercises;

discussed methods for cultivating critical thinking, as well as analytical and interpretive skills, in students.

Furthermore, modern techniques for stimulating students’ interest in reading—leveraging the capabilities of artificial intelligence—were demonstrated.

Throughout the event, teachers explored methodologies aimed at developing skills in in-depth text analysis, identifying main ideas, formulating conclusions, and expressing personal opinions; they also gained practical ideas to implement in their own teaching practices.

This valuable practical platform served as a catalyst for professional development and marked a significant step forward in the ongoing effort to enhance the quality of education.
